Paula Abdul, former Lakers cheerleader, took her dance know-how and began
choreographing many projects (ranging from Janet Jackson's "Nasty"
video
to "The Tracey Ullman Show", from Eddie Murphy's "Coming to America"
to George Michael's "Faith" tour) before hitting the charts with her debut
album, Forever Your Girl in 1989. With over four million copies sold, the
album produced three number one singles including "Forever Your Girl" (two
weeks beginning May 20, 1989), "Cold Hearted" (one week beginning
September 2, 1989), and "Opposites Attract" (three weeks beginning
February 10, 1990). Abdul married 80s heartthrob Emelio Estevez but it
ended in divorce.
